RARE HARD OT FIND BREED, Silver Penciled Plymouth Rock chickens are a rare breed of  Plymouth Rock chicken that have silver and black penciling on their bodies and breasts. They are known for their unique coloration and are slower to mature than other Plymouth Rock varieties.  These birds make excellent exhibition birds due to their plump body stats.  Their neck and saddle feathers are black with silver edging.  Average mature weight: roosters 7 1/2 lbs., hens 6 lbs.  They are friendly to their flock mates and won’t normally be at the top of the pecking order. Because of their disposition, they are a great starter bird for a backyard flock.
