The Turkey Tail mushroom is grown in oak, citrus wood, or apple wood, not dirt like the portabella or button mushroom. Turkey Tail mushroom is known to boost the immune system and slow cancer growth.
Bolete mushrooms, as pictured below have a high fiber content.ย Eating bolete mushrooms can help keep your gut healthy and prevent constipation. Liver protection. With antioxidant properties, bolete mushrooms have anti-inflammatory properties that protect your liver against damage and disease.
Bolete mushrooms are widely available and grown commercially in the US. The cap on this mushroom is usually larger at 12″ in diameter and weighing in at around 6 pounds.

The Boletes mushroom is widely used in soups, pastas, and risotto’s as well as many other culinary applications. This variety is one of the most beautiful look at but very hard to cultivate. Luna Berry Farms hopes to produce this variety for our forage center in 2025.

Lionโs mane mushrooms are rich in vitamins such asย thiamine, riboflavin, and niacin. They are also a good source of essential minerals such as manganese, zinc, and potassium. Studies in animals and small, preliminary studies in people suggest lion’s mane mushrooms might have a role in the prevention or treatment of cognitive decline, including Alzheimer’s disease.ย
